52 axle lines SPMT dynamic demonstration

HEAVYLT demonstrated a 52 axle-line SPMT configuration, showing the scale and synchronisation of the platform.

At a customer event at the Jiangxia production facilities, a 52 axle-line TJ-S2.43 configuration carried a 2,000 t test weight. The demonstration was designed to reproduce the load cases that matter in service — platform modules, ship hulls and bridge segments — rather than a laboratory condition.

The numbers behind the platform: 40 t per axle line, a total load capacity above 16,000 t when modules are combined, and a suspension stroke of ±350 mm around the 1,500 mm datum position. The pendulum suspension provides multi-directional compensation, so an uneven running surface does not translate into load concentration at a few points.

Each wheel set steers through +130° / −100°, which is what allows the whole vehicle to travel straight, diagonally, in carousel or in crab mode under a single operator.

The platform also carries an intelligent micro-movement transport system, a visual programming control system and an intelligent fault alarm and positioning system — the three functions that turn a very large transporter into a tool precise enough for load-out work.

The demonstration was first reported by KHL, International Cranes and Specialized Transport.
